Strap - Split Pin - Decorative Pattern

(Note: Measurements are outside max. dimensions unless stated otherwise).

18th Century : Split strap suitable for ring.

Width (top of strap) (5/16")
Height (ring) 10mm. (3/8") + strap 27mm. (1 1/16")
Internal diam. of ring 7mm. (1/4")

Please note: There is a small central stud inside the hoop of the strap designed to prevent a split ring from rotating which can be easily cut off with a piercing saw.

If bending back, it is recommended that it is softened by annealing. (Heat to cherry red colour, and plunge into cold water).

Probably from an early lacquer cabinet.
